Oh I saw that post and I wanted to make those SO BAD. You should see my floss collection- it's out. of. control. There aren't enough embroidery projects in the world so this might be perfect. God, I remember learning to make these during After The Bell.

I bkmked that purl bee post after I saw it and after seeing your post this morning, I pulled out my thread and started on an awesome eight strand rainbow. I'm so excited that I finally know how to make the chevron :)

Now, if only I had some keds to pin the bracelet to while I sit cross legged!

oh so awesome! i have been seeing them around the interwebs, including on the purl bee, and really wanted to make some although i'm not sure i want to embrace my 10 year old self again. you're certainly providing good motivation though, with your amazing ones.

I want to make some too! I've been eyeing my box of embroidery floss. I saw a post a while back and then with Purl Bee talking about it again. Ahh the good old days.

I loved making friendship bracelets as a kid. My mom even bought me a book about making them. My favourites things to make were little flowers. I made a bunch of rings too. In junior high, my friendship bracelet making evolved into beaded hemp bracelets which incorporates more macramé knot vocabulary. Ah, nostalgia!

last year i moved to congo where i couldn't bring much of my craft supply hoard... i realized friendship bracelets were the perfect travel companion for the needy crafter and stocked up on a million colors. there are some sites online that show you how to make INTENSE ones but they are perfect for long trips when you want to pack light... or moves that can take no more than 3 suitcases.

I've made so many of these already this summer! I don't think any of my friends are into it though, because I have yet to get one in return.
I remember walking around with an in-progress bracelet (or, more likely, an anklet!) safety pinned to my jeans at all times. This is the coolest comeback craft ever.

I was in high school, but goodness, do I remember them! I've seen them everywhere lately, and it makes me want to get the old safety pin for my jeans on the school bus to make more! ;)
