I got started with a few little string piecing experiments, based on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filminthefridge.com\/2009\/04\/27\/a-string-quilt-block-tutorial-paper-pieced-method\/\">Film In the Fridge&#8217;s tutorial<\/a> and loved how simple it was.  I love how you can take just a sliver of fabric and make it look neat and tidy in a block.  It made me think about piecing in a whole new way.<\/p>\n<p>\n<center><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/hiptopiecesquares\/4668009114\/\" title=\"little blue square by Hip To Piece Squares, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4023\/4668009114_c5b6c4290c.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" alt=\"little blue square\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<\/center><\/p>\n<p>So last night I got to thinking about how I could make it work for squares and small pieces.  I know so many people have figured this out already and are thinking &#8220;duh, Sarah, duh,&#8221; but I was so excited about how precise a teeny three inch square could look!  Seriously fantastic.<\/p>\n<p>I want to make a whole quilt out of these lovely little blocks, but for last night, I made a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.etsy.com\/listing\/48680967\/patchwork-pouch-blue-square\">very quilty pouch<\/a> with my little blue square.
